Hi, my name is Lindsay and thanks for visiting Gluten Free on the Town. I am gluten intolerant and have followed a strict gluten free diet since 2012. It changed everything for me. I was able to finally able to heal the years of GI distress I suffered and I had more energy and felt better than I ever had. I felt so good I had no intention of going back to the way I used to be. I love to visit restaurants with friends and family and wherever I went I would always ask the servers what is gluten free on their menu. Some places were more accustomed to this question than others. And because of this, Gluten Free on the Town was born. Since I’m always out and finding out what is gluten free at restaurants, I decided to take pics and document my experience here on this site. Sometimes there isn’t a lot of information available online and my goal is to help you navigate the world of being gluten free on the town.
Please note that while I do follow a 100% strict gluten-free diet, I am not celiac. I do hesitate to recommend restaurants to celiacs just because of the extremely high risk of cross-contamination. The good news is that more and more restaurants are becoming aware of the need to offer gluten-free items for their guests and many are changing their kitchen practices as a result of that. I will always note this in my thoughts on the reviews.
I am a Los Angeles native so most of the restaurants featured on this site can be found here in LA. If you’d like to get in touch with me, you can follow me on Twitter at @LTSurf or shoot me a note via the Contact Us page. Cheers!
